Rosie Live, Eli Stone, Boston Legal, and Dirty Sexy Money.

NBC’s attempt to put the obnoxious, ungracious, loud, and disturbing looking Rosie O’Donnel back on t.v. last month didn’t go so well. Her attempt at a variety show was said to simply be quite lame with bad skits and production numbers.
Just four days after it aired in late Novmeber it was immediately on the chopping blocks. Danny Gallagher states of Rosie Live that:
“It seems that the show NBC hoped would revive the variety show format was getting an autopsy before it even had a chance to get off of the operating table.
E! Online reports that Rosie O’Donnell said her live variety show, the cleverly named Rosie Live, won’t make it past the first episode, or as she so cutely wrote on her web site, “there will b no more.”
The one and only episode of Rosie’s return from TV purgatory was dismal, to say the least. Friday’s Wednesday’s episode only drew 5 million viewers, despite the appearance of high profile celebrities like Alec Baldwin, Alanis Morissette and Ne-Yo to help them forget the fact that they were watching a show where Rosie O’Donnell is the star.”
Eli Stone is out
As reported by the LA Times:
The executive producers of ABC’s “Eli Stone” had the sad task Thursday afternoon of informing the cast and crew that the show will not go on.
Executive producers Marc Guggenheim and David Petrarca gathered actors and crew members to let them know that they had been notified by ABC that the show will not continue. Production will end when it completes the network’s 13-episode order, according to a source who attended the meeting.
The drama, which stars Jonny Lee Miller, joins the ranks of “My Own Worst Enemy,” which NBC canceled last week. The networks are in the process of finalizing their midseason lineups after a very difficult fall.

Boston Legal’s December 8th episode was it’s final. The show still has a pretty good fan base who like what it’s producing, and website TV Series Finale argues it’s case:
Boston Legal: Petition to Continue the Cancelled TV Show
ABC may have cancelled the Boston Legal TV show after 101 episodes but it’s clear that there’s still stories left to be told. Will the new marriages last? Where will the new lawyers end up?
Many believe that the series shouldn’t have ended just yet. Though the show’s ratings have dipped over the years, the numbers aren’t that low. These days, some networks would love to have that many viewers. The show often comes in second against CBS’ dominant CSI: Miami.
Would you like to see this award-winning dramady continue in some way — perhaps as a TV movie, a spin-off, or even as part of David E. Kelley’s new legal drama? If so, sign the petition below and make your case for continuing to follow the crazy exploits of Alan Shore and Denny Crane. Write to the studio and the network and tell them you’d like to see the characters live on. Go ahead, channel your “inner Alan Shore.”
Dirty, Sexy, goooone…
TV Series Finale also has the skinny on the cacellation of Dirty, Sexy, Money. I’m glad it’s going just because of the name. This is what low brow appeals to sex and materialism have sunk to. They don’t even try to pretend the show is worth a damn, they just come right out and say it’s about sex and money.
Not to mention the fact that the title shows an abhorent lack of creativitiy, which probably betrays a program thats uncreative dreck.
ABC’s guilty pleasure, Dirty Sexy Money, has been struggling for sure. This season, the TV show has been averaging just six million viewers and a 1.9/5 rating/share in the desirable 18-49 demographic. The network had ordered 13 episodes for year two with the option of purchasing additional installments if needed. They decided against exercising that option but one of the series’ stars says that it’s not over yet.
As you probably know by now, Dirty Sexy Money follows a family man and lawyer (Peter Krause) who gets talked into representing the wealthy and powerful Darling family…
The cast and crew have completed filming their 13th episode for the season and we’re told it will include a bit of closure. Baldwin is optimistic that it won’t be the series finale. In a statement reminiscent of Brooke Shields’ overly optimistic comments about Lipstick Jungle, the actor says that the show isn’t cancelled yet and is just “on the bubble.”
Appearing on the Today Show on Tuesday, Baldwin said, “ABC has, I believe, cancelled Eli Stone and Pushing Daisies. And Pushing Daisies has like 12 Emmy nominations. Our show, they very specifically said, is not cancelled. They’re holding the actors, the sets, and I think that could be code for if some of their mid-seasons [shows] don’t do well, they’ll bring us back for the back nine or they’ll order something.”
Baldwin conceded that Money is definitely in deep trouble and urged fans to do what they can to save the show.
What’s behind Money’s troubles? The obvious reason is that the show’s audience is shrinking. The actor believes that it’s mostly due to the struggling economy. Baldwin notes, “I think that, between the writers strike definitely hurting television, and I think with the economy going south, and then Wall Street collapsing, I think the networks are, like everybody else, are in full, sort-of, retreat mode. And my show is one thing if nothing else (of course fabulous) but it’s expensive. We’re creating a world where a family is worth $50 billion, and they have to spend money [to make that look].”

I kinda liked Eli Stone. What else do these idiots have in the hopper? More ‘reality’ TV? NBC’s Mamma’s Boys? The Bachelor?
I wish I had cable…(gone since July.)
I tried to watch Eli Stone last night, it didn’t movie. I went back to T.V. Land; or tv land via my computer aka looking up episodes of classic shows on youtube to watch.
I saw the commercial for mamma’s boy — terrible! Terrible, terrible dreck.
