5th Anniversary of the Iraq War

March 17th, 2008

Today marks year five since we entered into war in Iraq based on what was obviously false intelligence, and heavily flawed logic from day one; not to mention intentional distortions by the white house and it’s allies like Hillary Clinton.

Fall of Sadam's Statue

We’ve now been in Iraq just a few months short of the length of the entirety of World War II. In a world that operates at much faster speeds than in the 1940s it is all but a certainty that it will take us significantly longer to finish a battle against a third rate military power than it did to defeat multiple top rate military powers 60 years ago.

The media sat back waving red, white, and blue pom poms as we were lied into war, and now passes along the propaganda that the surge has been some rousing success. Success at what?

And today Dick Cheney calls success in Iraq “phenomenal” and “dramatic”, while John McCain again lies about safe neighborhoods in Iraq.

Almost 4,000 American soliders are dead, tens of thousands more seriously injured or even maimed, and tens of thousands to proably over a hundred thousand Iraq’s are dead; and there’s no end in site.

This is what happens when we keep electing war mongers to office, and listen to the mainstream media without investigation. Now the drumbeat into Iran has already started.

IRAQ IS STILL A HUGE PROBLE. Don’t forget it.

Some of us predict this before the war:

This Iraq War was a rotting pig of an idea from the very beginning. But I always thought that if you elect a vice president whose company profits off war (Halliburton), then OF COURSE he’s going to advocate for a war that will make the value of the company stock go up! And that’s precisely what has happened. Halliburton stocked as risen astronomically.

Will half of the American people be that stupid again in 2008? I really can’t believe that, after all that’s gone on, there are still half of the people thinking of voting Republican in 2008. What is in their heads? What kind of priorities do they have?

Anyway, we can only do what we can do to give them a meaningful choice, but if they elect Richard Nixon again then that’s not something we can really control.

Anyway, I hope everyone reading this post has signed the “Concede Now, Hillary!” petition!

A lot of people are war mongers Francis just like the people in office; and most of them are just ignorant, and they just don’t know what’s going on one way or the other.
