7 Things About Me

November 18th, 2007

I don’t do memes at this blog because they’re outside the scope of it’s purpose; but since Zoe and Tayo both asked me to, here’s goes:

1. I used to be a Deacon. Not only but I was the Secretary of the Deacon board. I even had keys to the church. Well actually I still have keys to the Church, they never got them back from me ;)

2. More than being a Deacon I was also a member of the Church Board at 24. Got to vote on the budget and everything

3. Through five years of organized football, at my small stature the only position I started at was linebacker; though I played running back through 80% of my career

4. I never lived in a majority Black environment until I went to college and stayed on campus. I grew up in middle class neighborhoods, then ended up living in the hood. That’s backwards isn’t it?

Now I live in a majority Mexican immigrant neighborhood; when conversely I don’t remember not one Latino in any neighborhood I ever lived in before; and still I can go about my business all day an not see one Latino outside of being at home.

5. I released a Hip Hop LP a few years ago.

6. I’m one of the rarer Black people who have grandparents with masters degrees, but neither I nor any of my 4 siblings have an advance degree.

7. I was born in West Germany; but I was still born a U.S. citizen. My dad was in the Air Force, stationed at Ramstein AFB. It’s the base you might hear about where most injured soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan are sent to.

Yeah, it was actually a compilation where I was a featured artist. It was going to be a full length album, and I finished recording all but I got sick then I never released it.

I’m going back into the studi soon and plan to do some better work. I’ll have my own studio this time so I won’t have to rush my recordings: cdbaby.com/cd/hollowpoint2
