Audio of Hillary Clinton At the Democratic Convention

August 27th, 2008

Here we are just 20 minutes after the speech and I’ve got the full audio for you.

I’ll give her credit, Hillary came through quite strong.

There was a lot of loud cheering for a long time after Chelsea announced her; so after that you might want to go to the 4:07 mark when she starts speaking.

    Notable Quotes:

“…and you haven’t worked so hard over the last 18 months, or endured the last 8 years to suffer through more failed leadership. No way, no how, no McCain. Barack Obama is my candidate, and he must be our president.

“Were you in this campaign just for me, or where you in it…for all those people in this country who feel invisible”

Huffington Post says “HILLARY DELIVERS… AND THEN SOME…”

DENVER — Hillary Rodham Clinton summoned millions of voters who supported her in the primaries to send Barack Obama to the White House Tuesday night, declaring in a Democratic National Convention speech that the man who defeated her “is my candidate and he must be our president.”…

And this morning, there are still those who out of a mysterious devotion to Hillary rather than a commitment to a better country, will spite the Democratic party and vote for McCain or not vote at all.

What a crazy world in which we live.

It shows you the nature of people Jarrett. It shows the power of spite and hate and desire for vengeance. Such things drive you to utters stupidity, and self-destruction (such as voting against your own interest and for more of Bush just to spite someone who did nothing but dare to run).

As a whole, we get what we deserve.

The best line, “were you in this campaign for me, or for those…”

She really did a great job, but you can’t expect less from her. She has a stated interest in this, as well. She has to win back some votes, and pay off some debt. I realize her strengths, now that the primaries are over, and she is one hect of a politician…

MrsG, unfortunately it appear that a lot of her supporters where in it for feminist loyalties, or pro-Clinton loyalties; and not for the issues and the future of America.

Clinton could have been more specific in endorsing Barack in particular; but on the call for Dems to come home, and for her supporters not to go over to McCain nor “sit on the side lines”; she did a good job.

My biggest wish is that the networks would play the speeches and shut up. Fox didn’t carry Pelosi’s speech the other night, they dismissed it out of hand while the pundits at MSNBC were saying no one called McCain out which Pelosi clearly had.(though I’m no real fan of hers after these last few months) I am slightly disturbed that more time is spent telling us what we should be thinking about the speeches instead of letting us decide for ourselves.

I thought her speech was fine. Her supporters are either going to or not going to vote for Obama. I’m not sure how many fence sitters there were but that speech would surely have convinced the fence sitter though to the die-hards out for vengeance.

Watch PBS Coverage, they cover every speech, and then give their analysis; and of course c-span has no commentators.
