Bank of America Pressured By Treasury To Buy Merrill Lynch

October 21st, 2009

Due to information being released to a congressional oversight committee, the fact that internal Bank of America documents reveal extensive Federal Bank and Treasury Department pressure to acquire Merrill Lynch is a news headline this week.

This isn’t exactly new information, BoA CEO Ken Lewis testified about this before congress in June. Nonetheless, with it being in the news, I wanted to present to you this PBS-Frontline documentary that I watched a couple weeks back called Breaking the Bank; in which Ken Lewis is intimately interviewed about this, and all the behind the scenes that led up to this mess is well detailed and explained:
