Bill Clinton Says Obama Played Race Card In SC

Yahoo news states that
“The issue of race in the campaign was renewed when former President Clinton, asked in an interview broadcast Tuesday [April 22] with Philadelphia radio station WHYY about comments he made before the South Carolina primary, said the Obama campaign “played the race card on me.”
“And we now know, from memos from the campaign and everything, that they planned to do it all along,” Bill Clinton said.
Asked about Clinton’s remarks, Obama chuckled and said: “So, former President Clinton dismissed my victory in South Carolina as being similar to Jesse Jackson, and he’s suggesting that somehow I had something to do with it? Ok, well, you’d better ask him what he meant by that. I have no idea what he meant. These were words that came out of his mouth, not words that came out of mine.”
Bill Clinton is playing the race card and rewriting history. The Obama camp didn’t respond to the South Carolina comment really at all; except to brush it aside when asked about it! Bill Clinton is simply bold face lying. The Obama camp was working hard to avoid race at that time especially, to the point that I even criticized him that “if he minimizes race to gain power, that he’ll minimize race to maintain power”.
Obama wanted no parts of race because there’s no way he could win that. It’s an absolute lost for him if the nomination race becomes racial; so it’s absolutely absurd (along with contradictory to any facts) that Obama would have tried race polarization as a tactic. If the races are polarized, Obama gets wipped out in the Democratic primary alone (as blacks are less than a quarter of the Democratic electorate) much less the general (were Blacks represent less the 12% of the voter ship)
This is completely stupid, completely nonfactual, and completely disgusting gutter politics that Bill Clinton is trying to pull again.
Show us the memos! I mean, what the hell is this guy talking about? Is he in the early stages of dementia or something?
The question that was asked Bill in South Carolina was “Why does it take the two of you to beat Obama?” or I’ve seen it quoted as “What does it say about Barack Obama that it takes two of you to beat him?”
I don’t see how bringing up Jesse Jackson had any relevance to the context. And if he wanted to printout any one particular politician who’d won in South Carolina but didn’t win the nomination, it’s a no brainier that he would have brought up John Edwards who’d done just that 4 years previous. Why would you leap over Edwards whose situation would be more relevant as the most modern example, and skip back 20 years to Jackson?
If you watch the video of him saying it, he’s clearly being smug and dismissive. It’s a so what if Obama’s beating us here, the other black guy won here twice, answer. Bill Clinton is lying about the context of the conversation too; there was no historical discussion about SC politics; just like he lied this morning, and claims he didn’t make the comments about Obama playing the race card. We got it on tape fool!
He can try to front all he wants to; but we understand code language.
It’s been suggested that the media trapped Clinton and cut the tape of his answer in South Carolina the way they wanted to. Fine, then show the whole tape and call the media on their crap…but to blame Obama??? How the hell does he controls the media, or what comes out of Clinton’s mouth in response to them?
This is the political trash game the Clinton’s have played the whole last 4 months. Whatever the media says about the Clintons, the Clinton campaign insists matter of factly that the Obama camp said it or made the characterization. They were pulling this trick of blaming Obamas camp for what the media said back in January, even at the time when the Obama camp routinely wouldn’t respond to this stuff. Now that they are responding some, every time they do respond, the Clinton’s now say it’s whining.
No matter what is said and done, the Clinton’s will lie and rewrite history. It’s the way they’ve always done politics. Ask George W.H. Bush and Bob Dole about it.
They simply lie without conscience!
After I wrote the question about dementia, I actual found a possible answer to it. I don’t buy it as an excuse for why he behaves the way he does, that’s who he is; but it might explain why he’s being so in artful, obvious, and clumsy in doing it. It’s like how alcohol let’s down your inhibitions and you say what you really feel, where you would have kept to yourself if not drunk; but it is what you actually feel.
The Clinton’s have run an obvious slash and burn campaign across the board with Hillary and all her sarrogates employing the exact same tactics; so the attempt is clearly intentional, his inability to execute is the only question.

I agree. Bill & Hill are doing some very destructive things in order to get the nomination. Trying to superimpose racial hatred and bigotry on Barack to garner the nod.
Unfortunately for Barack enough backwater, uninformed and long-standing bigots exists to garner votes against him.
Instead of issues, and their are plenty to discuss, the Clintons take it to a full-contact, sling the spaghetti on the wall to see what sticks arena where it only hurts the Dems.
Republicans & their media lackeys love this. Gives them a need to breathe.

Jason, it’s not a coincidence that the least educated the state, the more the state goes for Clinton; the exception being New Hampshire where white women where the overwhelming demographic and the 18 percent of undecideds in the last day broke for Hillary Clinton when she strategically cried to get them to feel sorry for her.
Well, also a low educated place like Mississippi went Obama; but that’s because she race-baited and drove Blacks overwhelmingly to Obama.
