Obama Man Crush Radio Broadcast

Last week I participated in an internet radio cast, or podcast about the article in the Root that I wrote-on, recently, entitled “The Obama Man Crush”. You can check out my take in that link as well as through the podcast below; along with thoughts from others. It was a lively discussion for sure!

On The Air With Doctor Mo

Myself and MrsGrapevine joined Doctor Mo on the Danger Zone podcast Tuesday night.

We went on to discuss The Proud Black Voter Blog that Mrs. Grapevine and I co-moderate along with Villager; but we ended up talking about all kinds of social and political issues as well, from Issac Hayes, to China not letting ‘ugly’ girls on stage, to being fashionable on a budget (some how Mrs. Grapevine sucked me into that convo).

Warning the show is a slight bit explicit, and Doctor Mo is not very PC.

We don’t come on until the 15th minute mark:

Other websites mentioned in the discussion:

Hustle Knocker’s blog

The Jena 6 Blog

Eddie Griffin (BASG) - that article on the ex-offender registering all those people to vote wasn’t at his blog, I saw him post it on a list serve and here it is

Black Talk Radio - Have You Forgotten the Jena Six?

If the player above doesn’t work for you for some reason, you can go here to hear it off of the source website.

I was interviewed in this radio broadcast by Scotty of One Black Man’s View. He also intertwined some good audio clips from the Congressional hearing on nooses and from other things.

Below are links that I reference in the interview from The Jena 6 Blog and else where:

BlackPerspective.net On CNN

This week is a very media-fied week for BlackPerspective.net

Sunday we were in Black Enterprize

Thursday, your boy Yobachi will be interviewed through the Black Talk Radio network on blog talk, about the forgotten Jena 6 story; which is an on going situation.

See updates at The Jena 6 Blog

And yesterday I was one of the featured commentators in a CNN article. Apparently the author while googling the issue came across my January article entitled Why a Barack Obama Presidency May Be More Bad Than Good For Black People. He called me up a couple of weeks ago and did a quick interview with me. He quoted me from both the article and the interview.

We’re 2 for 2 this week on an interviewer getting and writing to the essence of my point. I like what he emphasized on my part considering the space he gave me, and I like the piece overall. It did a good job of tying together commentary on the question, and putting forth some examination.

Fellow AfroSpear Blog Black Agenda Report is also featured, via commentary from Glen Ford

My Article On CNN

The CNN Article

Please read below before commenting about my post and comments in the article:

If you are outraged that I exercise my ability to think, and that I would dare question the Messianic ascension to the presidency of Jesus Barack Obama; whatever stupid thing you’re going to say has already been said here. Please find your dumb, thoughtless, ignorant, non-reading comprehending, red herring, beside the point argument and read where I’ve already replied.

In most cases I’ve already addressed the issue within the post itself; but being that most people lack either reading comprehensions skills, or the intellectual honesty to admit a point that goes against their preconceived notion; you all reveal in repeatting things I’ve said, or trying to challenge me on things that I’ve thoroughly addressed; all while ignoring the point.

Exhibit A. For the upteenth time since I posted this article here and else where since January, another lame brain says to me yesterday that but but but, Obama being president will be an inspiring light to young Black people, huh, what about that:

And I quote from my article, as it has been from day one:

“With all above said, on the counter balance side, the lighter weight side that would be though, we must acknowledge the positive in a possible win. An Obama presidency can provide a great source of inspiration for many a Black youth to strive. Further, it could provide some marginal shifts in overall attitudes towards race equality.”

THANK YOU FOR READING!

Just because A is a positive, that does not make it outweigh all negatives, and even a mediocre analysis of anything requires taking all factors (or as many as possible) into account. But I explain this thoroughly in the post. If you didn’t read their, you’re not going to read it hear, so no point in me wasting the time and energy.

Bottom line is that you people will not drag me down into your brainless, thoughtless refusal to even examine a situation, and refusal to look forward towards all foreseeable consequence; in favor of some emotion driven fantasy about inspiration, post-racial, and blind faith in nothingness.

So, if you have any new and thoughtful Discussion points; please comment. If you’re just going to repeat the same ol tripe seen here, please spare me.

Black folks who are really down for the struggle care about the overall actual advance of Black people, not empty symbolic points of inspiration. The former is the discussion that Black folks should be having.
