Discussing the Diaspora as seen through an internal Black lens

The Day of Blogging Against Genocide still needs your participation. If you’ve already notified me elsewhere that you will be participating, your name and site may already be listed in the comments of that hyperlink.
If you’re not listed somewhere in the comments, I hope you will comment and let us know you are participating.
We’re going to blog against genocide on next Wednesday, October the 24th. We need a united effort to raise the public consciousness and thus political pressure.
The Bloggosphere has power. In the Afrosphere we moved Shaquanda Cotton to freedom and the Jena 6 to national awarness; let’s move more folks to stand against genocide.
Sixty years ago after the Holocaust we said “never again!”

After the world sat by doing nothing a dozen years ago, Bill Clinton recently apologized for Rwanda

Though those words ring hollow as his wife is already saying that she’s not going to do much on Darfur if she gets into office.

This time, Instead of morning a genocide, what if we STOP one!

Here’s an action you can do locally. I was already planning to do something like this locally before I saw this today, though were not going door to do, we’re hitting the street around Vanderbilt University and getting people to sign the Save Darfur post cards to send to the President and legislature:

You mean October 24th, not September
Yes, thank you. Let me correct that.
FYI: 3 posts done, 3 to go. It is Wednesday, the 24th of October, in many places
’round the globe, tho’ Tuesday the 23rd here. No problem, predated my posts
to the morning. A picture is worth a thousand words and my site provider has
“improved” the service, which means now I am unable to add images to my posts.
Thank you for taking time to make me aware of this blog action day.
