Defending Obama: Mike Huckabee, Tracy Morgan, and Chris Wallace Videos

March 21st, 2008

I’ve always liked Mike Huckabee since he entered the national stage a few years ago while Governor in Arkansas, when he lost all that weight, and then started a campaign to get people in his state to lose weight and get healthy. I have a couple of strong lines of disagreement with him, but unlike most Republicans, he’s not mean spirited; and actually shows concern for human beings.

It starts about 1 minute into the video

And the video of Tracey Morgan responding to Tina Fey and others on Saturday Night Live
Edited to add:

Fox News own Chris Wallace takes the Fox and Friends crew of say-nothings to task for “Obama Bashing”. See video

and Brian Kilmeade argued with his co-host over the obvious meaning behind refering to his grand mother as have been a “typical white women” and then in some people’s estimation “stormed off the set”; but I can’t tell that he wasn’t just playing: Video here

It is interesting to see the counter-reaction to the Obama bashing taking place on SNL, Fox and Friends etc. However, I hope that Obama is able to move forward in a more positive direction on more substantive issues…

We need to continue focus on getting Clinton to concede.

You are correct! Mike Huckabee is a man of common sense and character and that scares people, even in his own party. Since he is genuine no one “gets” him. He says he cares about the regular working guy and he means it. He says he’s a christian so people accuse him of wanting a theocracy. Then he proceeds to act like a christian-what’s with that? He says we accomplish nothing by mean spirited campaigns and he isn’t mean spirited. I think it says alot about our country that we expect divisive, meanspirited candidates. In my opinion, that is why we would be a better people if the candidates were Obama vs Huckabee. Then whoever won would be a trustworthy steward of the position.
On another note…it bothers me how the candidates all tout their plan for changing things….they are running for the President not Senate. They won’t make the laws of the land. I know they lead and have some power to convince lawmakers to do what’s right but they certainly do not have the power to change the price of gas or even create jobs. Even health care will be changed by Congress not the POTUS. He can veto and put pressure on congress but that’s it. So often we blame or praise the president but it is the checks and balances of Congress that either make or break a presidential agenda.

Villager, the problem is the media refuses to let it go. Lou Dobbs is on CNN this Sunday evening pushing the issue as he is clearly anti-Obama. I recognized this before the Wright tapes came out.

This is a salacious story for the media, and as they are lazy and corrupt, salaciousness is what they look for. We have to work hard to get info out their to change or at least help reshape the conversation.

maryanstro, far too many people don’t respect good and decency, that’s why we have so much bad and indecency growing in our society.
