I’m no fan of Disney and while I’m don’t belong to the Black community as you define it, Disney’s inability to move beyond Walt’s famous bigotry no matter how the corporation tries, does seem to speak to this country’s own enduring retribution for slavery. We may never get free of it, whether because of trying too hard or not trying hard enough.
As a side issue, though not completely unrelated, after debating with a friend as to whether people in the US wanted to be renowned for expertise at terrorist tactics (I thought not; she thought, yes), I dreamed that DisneyWorld and/or DisneyLand opened a hokey, jokey TerroristLand where tourists either pretended to get tortured pretended to inflict the pain. I think a wheel was spun, as to whether the tourist was victim or torturer. More fun than teacups.
