Discussing the Diaspora as seen through an internal Black lens
February 3rd, 2010
With congressional hearings this week about overturning the “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy instituted by then President Bill Clintin in the 90s; I wanted you to hear what Clinton himself had to say on the issue pretty recently.
Back in August of 2009 in Pittsburg, this is what he told the audiene that I sat in at netroots nation when confronted by a heckler in the back of the room.
I started filming right after the heckler screamed at him:
Yes, so just understand, Bill Clinton’s triangulation is always anyone elses fault except his. He’s got an angry, righteosly indigniant response for everything.
It’s not that what he’s saying doesn’t hold some water, it’s that he never accepts any responsibility or makes any acknowledgement for his political cowardice or his mistakes on anything. Anytime he’s challenged about anything he did, or didn’t do in his presidency, he’s always got a good excuse, but almost never takes responsibility for his failings; nor admit that he simply made political trade offs.
