Discussing the Diaspora as seen through an internal Black lens
March 12th, 2008
I tried to ignore this…well, not ignore it as far as personal interest; as I’ve been following the contreversy closely since Tuesday morning. But I wasn’t going to post on it since I’ve posted on so much of the Clinton race-baiting over the last two and a half months.
Again, this southern strategy type racial polerization by the Clinton campaign is clearly orchistrated from the top, and not new for the Clinton’s.
The mainstream media and white media in general have been acting as if the racism or even accuracy of Ferrar’s comments are debatable. Finally, late this afternoon today some editorials have started to break and call out Ferraro on her deviseness and inaccuracy at the least, and some for her racism.
Most still give Hillary a pass ,as if there is any way she’s not approving of this through her actions of keeping Ferraro in the campaign. She can say she disagrees with Ferarro with her mouth, but as Clinton is fond of saying, “words are not actions”, and Clinton’s actions says she fully approves.
Update: Ferraro has resigned in the last couple of hours, yet she stands by her statements, she flip flopping on what she said, and Hillary is not distancing her self from Ferraro.
Here’s a round up of what some folks are saying:

Though I find in this one calling the original statement an accident to be wrong. Clinton surrogates don’t keep making these same kind of racializing and racially pollerizing statements by accident for 2 and a half months. And if it wasn’t an accident, she wouldn’t stand by it and say something even more racial, she would have retracted it.
You’re Wrong, Ms. Ferraro

A very good rebuttal, though it contains an incorrect fact about there being more black men in jail than in college, which I corrected in the post’s comments.

I caught up with all the news this woman caused and was a little put off by it. She went as far as justifying her words by saying no one would have been interested in her if she wasn’t a woman. All I could think was so you have nothing else good about you other than the crack between your legs? You don’t value what you’ve done within government? Pardon my words for being so crass, but this election and all that is coming with it, is getting out of hand.
Yeah Urban Thought, one of those articles I posted made the same point about denigrating herself.
And did you notice the response from Hillary - “And both of us have had supporters and staff members who’ve gone over the line, and we have to rein them in and try to keep this on the issues. There are big differences between us on the issues — let’s stay focused on that.”
In Barack’s camp Samantha Power, though she was right on, got fired, in Hillary’s camp, nada.
Rather than firing Ferraro, Ferraro resigned and days later Hillary ‘apologized’ with this: “I certainly do repudiate it and I regret deeply that it was said. Obviously she doesn’t speak for the campaign, she doesn’t speak for any of my positions, and she has resigned from being a member of my very large finance committee.”
Can’t anyone read between the lines?
Let’s be real about this. The racism of white women liberals like Ferraro, Hillary and Gloria Steinhem is clearly coming to the surface. How dare that negro challenge what we are entitled to ? Why won’t he accept being in the number two position ?
It’s probably what a lot of them are thinking across the country the more Hillary keeps bringing up race and gender. She’s got nothing else to go on.
Morgan, the Clinton Double Speak is Orwellian.
