Glenn Beck On African-American Founders

June 8th, 2010

Glenn Beck, the quivering, always crying…for America, Right wing darling of the far right nuttery, who called Obama a racist against part of his on mixed heritage; did something interesting one night.

“Becks”, who plays the role of constitutional purist and worshipper of the founding fathers, and in doing so ends up being a historical revisionist, painting fresh coats of paint of sugar drops and lollipops on everything that was America during the days men wore stockings under knickerbockers; decided he’d do a program on Black founders left out of American history.

This is not an all together new reach for Beck. While he race-baits on one hand, in recent months he’s also held Black Conservative Town Hall Meetings, apparently to show the rest of us Blacks how we should be.

See Video of Glenn Beck’s African-American Founders day program

The video contains good and interesting information. So definitely take in the historical info. But let’s not be beguiled and distracted from Glenn Beck’s true motivation for this and his Black Town Hall meeting programs. It’s all self-serving.

First of all, the whole “Obama is a racist, he hates white people stuff”, which is a tactic by Beck to gin up racial annimosity against a Black political opponent (it’s been know as the southern strategy), has cost him a number of sponsors. Beck needs to reach out for more people and try to buffer himself against the fact that he tends towards racial annimosity.

Secondly, Beck is in a culture war, whether real or perceived in his own delusions amidst a flow of tears. He therefore needs to recruit allies to his ideologies side. This is a campaign that he, and other republicans have tried for some time, to hoodwink Blacks into believing that “the party of Lincoln” cares about them and is on their side. To pretend while supporting the Klu Klux Tea Party, and people like S.C. Sen. Jake Knotts (a guy who calls Obama and an Indian woman of his own party ragheads) that they really don’t disdain minorities.

So this is conservative PR, but the spin doesn’t hide the foul stench that spews from Becks mouth whenever he opens it.

While Beck may be race-baiting, he is no worse than someone like Janine Garafalo or Jerimiah Wright spouting mindless tripe. And while we’re on the subject, why didn’t Ophrah or someone else with a media platform present something like this–or even you?

Yes, let’s “take in all the info” while disregarding the message. That makes a lot of sense. As a black independent, I think Beck is giving credit it’s due. You can question his motives but that is speculation without facts…unless, of course you assume raciam via conservatism…pure ignorance. Hmmm…I wonder if this program would be race baiting had a liberal pundi made the same efforts? Probably not.

“Yes, let’s “take in all the info” while disregarding the message.”

No, that doesn’t make any sense, and you should stop saying it.

“You can question his motives but that is speculation without facts”

Of course, and I didn’t say otherwise. I give opinions supported by the facts. When one has a demonstrated goal, they should expect that their actions will be percieved as being in support of that goal. Your claim that he just wants to give credit where credit is due is just as much an assumption; but one that denies he’s a man with a clear, demonstrated agenda.

“I wonder if this program would be race baiting had a liberal pundi made the same efforts? Probably not”

I didn’t say this episode was race baiting. I said Glenn Beck is a race baiter. And if you deny that Glenn’s Beck has race baited, you either don’t follow what’s going on, or you have a problem.

As a 49-year-black man, I can’t understand why any educated person - ESPECIALLY those of color - would want to remain on the Democrat Plantation. YEARS after their promises, black folks are STILL complaining about the same things! Haven’t you noticed how black folks are treated like helpless “pets” in need of “assistance” from the Plantation Masters? How many Asians do you see on
    their Plantation?

The Democrat Plantation Masters have been pushing their Democrack of envy, jealousy, bitterness, anger and hatred on the Black Community for far too long. Now you sound like one of their Plantation Bosses!

And Barack Obama is a bigger race-baiter than Glenn Beck could ever hope to be; no, HE’S WORSE! Its easy to see how he used Rev. Wright’s church to gain “street cred”, then threw them under the bus during the campaign! Of course, the fact that he attend and financed Rev. Wright’s vile hate speech for TWENTY YEARS doesn’t seem to bother you at all.

The only racist I see at your blog is YOU. Now put your
“I-CAN-BE-A-FLAMING-RACIST-CUZ-I’M-BLACK” pass away, stop smoking that Democrack, and lose the “I’m smarter than you” attitude.

Damn Yobachi, these people can’t be real. They must be getting paid by the right. At least Beck hit a snag and might not get his parade pass for the August 29th march in Washington.

Or you could take Beck’s show as a learning opportunity. I for one have started to research the background on these black founders and why we don’t know more about them. This show has really opened my eyes and I think it will do the same for others who can actually think for themselves and research the facts.

The last thing the Progressives want is for blacks to think they can achieve anything on their own because then they won’t have a need for politicians and govt. support. Think about it, democrats want big govt. so they erase any self sufficient black man\woman who made it in this country out of the history books. The more dependent we the people are on the govt., means more power and control for these same politicians who claim to have our best interest.

“As a 49-year-black man, I can’t understand why any educated person - ESPECIALLY those of color - would want to remain on the Democrat Plantation”

I’m not on it; but I’m even less interested in the Republican’s plantation, no matter if the folks at the big house make a “colored” the figure head for awhile, or not.

” How many Asians do you see on their Plantation?”

Uhhh, most Asians vote Democratic; and not only, they do so in much larger percentages than does the general population. The overall Asian community’s lean to the left vs right is not even close.

“Now you sound like one of their Plantation Bosses!”

That’s funny considering you can go all through this blog and see how I’ve regularly ridicule the Democratic party for years, and advocate Black political independence, and said nothing in favor of the Democrats in this post; yet you’re spewing typical Republican propaganda talking points that they’ve used for over two decades to try to get us on their plantation. What, do you get a free day pass off the yard if you can rope in some other Blacks to go step and fetch it with you at the foot of some condescending, race baiting, paternalistic, southern strategy playing white Repubs like Beck?

“The only racist I see at your blog is YOU.”

Un-supported, ad homeniem attack. The natural resort of those with no point to argue.

” and lose the “I’m smarter than you” attitude”

You mean like how I demonstrate my point with facts such as linking a scientific poll about how Asians actually vote, instead of talking out of my ass like you, and making shit up? You don’t even have a clue about my political positions, or my positions on the democratic party. All you did was come here, make empty accusations, and tell lies.

    You’re dismissed.

And if you’re educated, you should seek a refund from your educational institution for malpractice. They certainly didn’t teach you how to argue an issue.

You can say whatever you want about Glenn Beck but name ANY liberal on TV who has brought this type of information to the public? Too many democrats (white & black) have that union mentality whereby they have become unable to think for themselves; they must be told whom to vote for, what cause to protest by their democratic/union bosses. Do your own research & then form your own ideas.

  9. D. Yobachi Boswell on July 26th, 2010 9:04 pm | link

Ripley, Yes there are. I’ll start with just one. Bill Moyers. He’s done more than brought it to tv; he’s a decades long contributor to the fight for equal justice.

So just with 1, though I could name more, I’ve already disproven your premise.

Nontheless, you skipped my own ideals that I did form and posted about; that being that Glenn Beck is a race baiting thug, who’s lost sponsorship due to his race baiting, and is simply using this to buffer himself against criticism and falling ad revenue.

Why did you skip that whole issue just to praise your conservative boss?
