Discussing the Diaspora as seen through an internal Black lens

Guru’s sister Patricia has announced a July 17th memorial for the public on Guru’s birthday.
She also tells Mtv news that the family did not hear of Guru’s death from his producer and business partner Solar, who’s been trying to run Guru’s life and legacy. Refering to Solar simply as “the health care proxy”, she says he did not contact them but that “Justin [her son] found out on the Internet and called me. I had to call my dad,” and that “KC found out riding in the car, hearing it on the radio.”
You can listen to audio of Patricia here:
Guru’s brother and farther, retired Judge Harry Elam had to run down the body of Guru in a funneral home, and send police to get it back from Solar.
According to HSK:
When Judge Elam “called to recover the body from John “Solar” Mo’Sher, Solar said that he was taking the body upstate for a private memorial.
Judge Elam immediately made claim to the body and asked Solar to “return the body at once”, to which Solar replied that he would return the body if Elam Sr. called off the Elam nephew from continuing to make statements and videos about Solar. Claims which Solar continues to call false.
Judge Elam’s reply, “I don’t have time for these childish games, send my sons body home immediately.”
Following this exchange the police were sent and Guru’s body was recovered and is currently on its way back to Boston, to his family and to lay in honor as they see fit.”

Why would Solar want the body for a private memorial? Maybe Guru and Solar were VERY close and they both wanted Guru’s illness and death to be handled in private between them. Guru seem’s to have distance himself from his family on his own. Maybe Solar feels it is his right as Guru’s long time partner to continue his legacy.
Otherwise this all just does not make sence.
Solar can think whatever he wants, but it’s factually not his right, it’s Guru’s next of kins right; which would first be Guru’s son, and since he is a minor I think the decision goes to Guru’s parents.
And I don’t know what you mean by “partner”, other then business partner, unless your insinuating an intimate relationship; which neither Guru, Solar, nor anyone else around them have said existed.
It makes perfect sense to me that a greedy low life is trying to profit off of control of Guru’s legacy. Such is far from rare.
