Hey, what up folk

December 7th, 2007

Wordpress screwed a bunch of us, and I wasn’t able to access my blog from Wednesday night til my Trinidadian virtual lover Tuluum, at TriniGourmet, worked her web programming nerd magic for me and fixed it last night. I was then going to post this morning while I was at home; but a spyware removal I did last night before I went to bed apparently screwed with my operating system, so I had a black screen only.

Got that fixed now and I can post.

Well first thing, some good news. I got confirmation last night that I will be on NPR again. This show will be on January 23rd. Don’t know who else will be on with me, nor the subject; but they normally don’t really decide the subjects until the week of anyway.

Here’s where you can listen to my last appearance.

The technical problems threw off my posting schedule. It also first happened while I was typing up a review of some of the Black Blogging Against AIDS post, and I lost that review when the damn blog ate itt. The crazy thing is I normally type my post in Word first so that doesn’t happen; and I started do that post in Word; but then decided to do it directly in my dash board because I was doing a lot of links and didn’t want to have to past them into the Word document then have to copy and past them again to do the link tag when I put the whole post into the dashboard.

I’m going to try to have another review typed up by the end of today.

Ummm, what else is going on. I might be going to work in an AIDS orphanage in South Africa in June. I’m trying to raise sponsorship money for that. If anyone knows how I can maybe get some grants and sponsorship for that type of thing, let me know. I’m also going from the angle of a journalist and will do some heavy documentation and writing on the issue; so if anyone knows of some journalism grants, let me know about that too.

Well, stay tuned as always, and I’ll have more funk for you. A lot of exciting stuff next week:

* My interview with Alan Bean of friend’s of justice (actually, I might post that over the weekend)
* The tragedy of 4 black women convicted of violence for defending themselves against an attack by a man who’s advances they rebuffed
* We got something on black Americans versus black Caribbean folk
* Black folks tendency to become mystified with leaders or white folks who supposedly favor us
And certainly so more fire.

Thanks for your support – come again.
