Discussing the Diaspora as seen through an internal Black lens

The answer I’m sure is yes, but I’m sure it’s not the only reason. For one, you can’t be on top forever, and as is pointed out in the video there are going to be dips in popularity from time to.
Nancy Giles, the woman on the right in the above video, totally misses the whole point on the Obama thing, though. I assume she is not familiar with voiting patterns in this election.
She keeps making the point that Ellen is showing obvious support for Clinton and her favorability isn’t slidding, as some kind of proof that supporting a candidate must not be the reason. Actually, that proves the point that Oprah is losing favorability because of her vocal support of Obama.

The majority of both Oprah and Ellens audiences are middle aged to older white women. Hillary Clinton’s strongest voting base is middle aged to older white women. So of course a host with this audience would take a hit for supporting Obama; but not take much if any hit for supporting Hillary Clinton amongst Hillary’s base.
In other words, duh!
When Oprah appeared with Maria Shriver and Caroline Kennedy in California more than a month ago she mocked women who she said asked her “Oprah, how could you” — as in how could she vote for a man over a woman, as if genitalia should be the only deteminate with which a woman votes. So clearly this was building, and should be no surprise.
These are the Steinem and Ferraro feminist that I talked about before who think it’s a litmus test of being a loyal woman to vote for Hillary; though they had no such litmus test when the Black woman was running for president.
Also, I don’t think that new age thing helps so much as that is a turnoff to a lot of people; but I don’t know why that would be a turn off now, as opposed to when she started doing it years ago; unless people are out there making a point of it at this moment in time.

It’s only a short term slump. White woman will be back with Oprah in due course.
People are so flaky. You aren’t allowed to not agree with someone at times?
I think reports like that are ridiculous anyway. Of course after a hundred years something has to give. I blame Dr Phil though, that was her biggest mistake.
Slump? Hell what, she is one of the wealthiest most powerful woman in the world, can’t say that of Ellen.
So now it’s on to Oprah, huh? I think Oprah fully considered the implications of endorsing Barack…what could this possibly do to her? She’s got her money, she’s already established…this is a minor lull.
I do, however, agree with Coop on the Dr. Phil thing…poor, poor choice…but then again, she’s made her money there too…and he’s established enough on his own that she can trim him from her…not much damage here either…
Oprah can pull a “Tavis” and simply pick up her sh** and leave…then what will women do? Cry in their spilt milk, that’s what…
Urban Thought, I doubt it makes any difference to her life either way.
Cooper, I doubt doctor Phil is rubbing off on her popularity; but somebody should be ashamed of him, the guy has no integrity. I first realized that about 3 years ago when he started hocking diet products that he was recommending in his counseling — a clear conflict of interest.
Plus the fact that he was hocking diet products, and giving diet advice while being fat himself wasn’t credible thing either.
