Discussing the Diaspora as seen through an internal Black lens
December 17th, 2009
It’s being pretty roundly reported around the web that earlier reports that Chris Henry has died tonight are just rumor.
Earlier this evening news came down that Henry had suffered life threatening injuries, and was in intensive care after falling out of a pick up truck in a confrontation with his fiance.

The Cincinnati Bengal Wide Receiver has been on injured reserve for the last month due to a broken forearm suffered in a Nov 8th game.
But now Football News Now is reporting that homicide detectives are investigating the situation:
Homicide detectives from the Charlotte Police Department are investigating the scene where Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry suffered life threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon.
The revelation is just the latest indication of just how much Henry’s life is hanging in the balance.
A source with direct knowledge of the situation told Dan Graziano of FanHouse that they “don’t think he’s going to make it.”
It could simply be, though, that people are referring to detectives who are doing the investigation as “homicide” defectives when they really aren’t.
Edited to add: Chuck Carroll from Football News Now, as can be seen in the comments, states that it was confirmed by the local police department that it was homocide detectives investigating the scene.

I came across your page. Thank you for linking to our site. I wish it were under different circumstances.
I wanted to clarify that the Charlotte Police Department confirmed that it was indeed the homicide unit that was investigating the scene. They released that information in a statement to the media on Wednesday.
Thanks for the update Chuck, I’ll add it to the body of the report.
