Discussing the Diaspora as seen through an internal Black lens
August 26th, 2007
“Day of Blogging for Justice” is going forward on August 30th.
If you’re not familiar with the campaign, read about it here.
The press release is going out tomorrow morning.
If you would like to be added to the page, which will be linked to in the media press release, comment with your name (either real or net handle, but real is preferable) full url so clicking on it will go to your site, and location so that the media can see that the outcry is coming from all over.
If you’re already on the list and want your location added, or info changed, also comment to let me know.

I almost messed up and posted it today lol! I was too excited.
I messed up in some of those emails, I left the original date on there which was today. My bad.
I did send new emails out this morning correcting that.
I feel more and more strongly called to be in Jena on the 20th. I will be in DC with Code Pink working to stop thhe racist occupation in Iraq along with the destruction of freedom in our country and around the world. I know there will be actions in DC on the 20th, but it seems important to bring a demand for justice and freedom into the heart of our country. The situation in Jena is indicative of the sickness that we are spreading around the world through our corporate driven foreign policies. We must build true democracy and demand justice for every citizen and demand protection from racism and oppression for our children. love,Eliz
Good statement. I agree.
Either way at least you’ll be somewhere making a difference.
Thanks, I didn’t realize this.

My firm and I are working as attorneys on the Jena 6 matters pro bono, so what I can say in my blog has to be not very detailed (to protect the rights of the children) but I will nonetheless blog on the 30th to the extent I can at the birds-eye level.
my blog entry is written and ready to roll:

I just want to add the link to the press release here.
It can increase visibility of the link in search engines.
I’ve also added it to the Jena 6 side bar at UU.

note to everyone:
It would be a great help if you would link the press release above from your blogs. This will assist it in rising in search engine ranks, which will increase visibility.
Much Love

Zoe, I’ll also put it on the Day of Blogging for Justice page, with a note for others to do the same.
Sounds good.
You’ve got a brilliant mind. Amazing what a small group of concerned citizens can do…
^_^
Please count me in…

Got the word in the nick of time! Important idea! Good work.
I want to let all my African-American brothers and sisters know.As there was in the begining of the civil rights movement. There still are white brothers and sisters.Fighting for an end to racial injustices,
racial discrimination and radical sociopathic bigots.
These are the ones that think—”It’s just a prank”.
To hang a noose from a tree.
So I implore you.Don’t forget us.However long you fight. We will stand beside you.Peace and Love.

‘Radical socio-pathic biggots’…
Well said, Brian.
That about sums up the racists in Jena and others like them elsewhere. They’re the puppets of the parts of government that benefit from their ignorance and division-causing stance, little do most of them know. They’re expendable to those parts of government too when their usefulness wears off.
