Discussing the Diaspora as seen through an internal Black lens

The Afrosphere Action Coalition released a press release this morning concernign John McCain and his temperment that makes him ill-fit to be president:
“Cunt” Remark to Wife Spells End of McCain Campaign”
In his book The Real McCain, author Cliff Schecter claims that John McCain made extremely ugly remarks about his wife Cindy McCain during a tirade witnessed by three reporters. “At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain’s hair and said, ‘You’re getting a little thin up there,’” Schechter writes. “McCain’s face reddened, and he responded, ‘At least I don’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt.’ McCain’s excuse was that it had been a long day. If elected president of the United States, McCain would have many long days.” DrudgeReport
According to Google trends, the American public was probably unaware until recently that John McCain called his wife a “cunt” in public, in front of reporters, and that he confirms that he did by refusing to deny it.
He was asked about it on the campaign trail, here:
Google trends shows the public’s concern over the “cunt” remark has spiked dramatically since John McCain became one of two remaining alternatives” As many as a third of the hits at the Truth About McCain blog come from readers seeking to confirm that John McCain called his wife, Cindy, a “cunt” in public, in front of reporters.
“Americans simply will not elect a man who calls his wife a “cunt in public.”
In the case of George Allen, it was his “macaca” remark that has been seen over 300,000 times on YouTube.
At the time time the Washington Post said,
In some European cultures, macaca is also considered a racial slur against African immigrants, according to several Web sites that track ethnic slurs. . . “This is trying to demean him, to minimize him as a person.” WaPost
“In every losing electoral campaign, there is something the losing candidate says that crystalizes the public’s conviction why the candidate ought not be elected.”
The Truth About McCain blog predicts that John Sydney McCain’s undoing result, above all, from John McCain’s calling his wife a “cunt” in public, in front on reporters. He refuses to deny (and thereby confirms) that he did on video.
“John McCain will be unable to escape questions about his “cunt” remark.
For voters, it shows he lacks the stability and self control to be president.”
In his book The Real McCain, author Cliff Schecter claims that John McCain made extremely ugly remarks about his wife Cindy McCain during a tirade witnessed by three reporters and two aides.
The mainstream media has so far been reluctant to address the question, if only because their editorial standards forbid the use of the word “cunt” in print and require that the word be omitted if spoken during a broadcast. However, it is inevitable that the question will arise during presidential debates and in other forums.
“The issue will that it is just as unacceptable to use the “C” word in American public discourse as it is to use the “N” word.”
Arguably, it is just as unacceptable for a public figure to to demean and degrade women in public, using unspeakable vulgarities based upon their gender, as it is to use such vulgarities to degrade Blacks based on their color. The election may well turn on the public’s judgment of whether calling one’s wife the “C” word in a public forum is as bad as calling a stranger the “N” word in public. And whether a candidate who uses either term can be elected president in the new millenium.
This is debate is already occuring in the blogosphere now and promises to dominate public debate during the rest of the presidential campaign.

wow
chk out what I call the blinded by the Obamafication of America
I like how he just completely avoids the question instead of denying it. This is bound to become a PR nightmare as November approaches.
Hey Yobachi, what’s up.I got a video about McPain that you might want to make go viral. I also got a e-mail from A&E, basically they said the usual bull. I’ll keep sending more, later.
Funny how we heard all about the “sweetie” comment. Haven’t heard anything about this one. Thanks for sharing.
I think that calling his wife that word was despicable however I don’t think that it is going to keep getting enough play in the media. Remember this is the same media that was fine making sexist commentary at HRC and now continues to attack Michelle. Hatred of women is normalized in western society. When the next sound bite comes along this will be forgotten.
The second video was educational for me. WTF? I didn’t even know what the term meant until I read the post. His body language and expression made it seem like some kind of crazy code language crap!
America is not so beautiful in terms of its mindsets.
Now that I have the definition of the word~it reminds me of the old Tarzan movies.
As far as Flipper using the C word. Isn’t it interesting how this gets a pass. It would seem that the feminist would be all over that one. Yet, hardly anything is said about this incident.
He is really not pro-woman. That is obvious by his attitude towards his wife and the mother of his children. His voting record reads anti-woman. And he basically acts like we are a non-existant as a group of people.
I would like to know how the black conservative block views this man? While everyone hollas about who does and does support Barack, is anyone checking to see how black conservatives are feeling about McMadness? I find it hard to believe that they could be comfortable with helping him win the POTUS. And those that are~what is their justification?
I think he should get down on his knees and than God that Cindy is not a Black woman! If she were, I suggest he would be running from her instead of for president.
Why are you not reporting the issue that Obama might not fulfill the requirements to be declared a natural born citizen and therefore not eligible to be a candidate for President. If your excuse is that it’s a technicality, then ask yourself how many “technicalities” have allowed self proclaimed murderers, rapists, etc get acquited… this is what the ACLU lives for, EXCEPT IN THIS CASE. It’s absurd and you all should be ashamed that you’re not questioning it.
Jpv, because I don’t report stupid, made up crap; just like I don’t have any post about McCain not being eligible to be president just because he was born in Panama.
You should be ashamed to be so pitiful and hysterical. I don’t push proven false rumors, I just call them what they are and move on.
