Discussing the Diaspora as seen through an internal Black lens
February 19th, 2008
So the Washington Post has an article out today called “Obama Wave Stuns Clinton’s Black Supporters”
“Which brings us back to the dilemma facing some of Clinton’s high-profile black supporters — those with titles and constituencies of their own. They are feeling some kind of crazy pressure. Last Friday, about 25 of them held an hour-long conference call to discuss what one described as an effort to “pester, intimidate, question our blackness” for not supporting Obama.”
Ahh ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!
Awwwww, poor head Negroes.
Pathetic - sitting up whining over the tactics that they used, now coming home to roost; but like Malcolm X, I’m shedding no tears because chickens coming home to roost never made me sad (is that sufficient citations so that the Clinton campaign doesn’t pettily accuse me of plagiarizing words?).
Dr. Julia Hare on “Leading Blacks”:
These same Top Negroes tried to bandy about that Barack wasn’t Black enough and that we somehow owed the Clintons some type of slave loyalty for having been “good Massas” to us; and if we didn’t pay tribute to the Clinton’s, we weren’t being loyal to our own cause.
These Leading Blacks thought that we owed the Clinton’s something, because they think that Black voters and citizens in the community owe them (the Head Negroes) our votes and support. And far too often we do give our votes and support unwarrantedly to worthless Black scoundrels. And being in their lofty echo chamber amongst one another, echoing their conventional analysis back and forth, and believing in the power of their own ability to further beguile the people; they strongly miscalculated the political winds, and cast their lot wit Misses Clinton and their beloved Master Bill Clinton.
Now they’re stepping and fetching is coming back on them and they find themselves in danger; and they’re scrambling like chickens with their heads cut off.
This language doesn’t apply to all Black Clinton supporters or all Blacks who don’t support Obama; not at all. It applies to those who tried to castigate Obama, and belittle his Blackness, or otherwise engaged in race politics in an attempt to diminish Obama for the benefit of their benevolent white benefactors. This applies to those who not simply argued on the merrits who was better for the presidency; but those who were willing to step on a Black sense of pride in order to tell us that these white folks understand Black better than a Black man.
Black Clinton supporter and Trenton New Jersey Mayor Doug Palmer says “To intimate that you may face a challenge [an election challenge] for what you believe in, I just think that’s over the top,”
What? What the hell do you think people get challenged for, and elected for? People normally vote for you based specifically on what you believe in, or at least what they percieve you to believe in (to differing depths). He goes on to contradict himself by saying: “I think my citizens pretty much understand that I am a person who stands up for what I believe in. I’m not saying that if I run again somebody won’t hold that against me. That’s politics.” Exactly, that’s politics, so what the hell are you talking about? Again, running scared; so scared they can’t even put together coherent thoughts.

No matter what the outcome of the primary is, black folks have made me proud this election year. We didn’t mindlessly cast our vote for Hilary Clinton because the ye old negro league hammered into our heads that we owe the Clintons some type of debt. We thought for ourselves and cast our votes for the man who has the interest of the people as his priority and whose platform is about change.
I feel ya Jamalia.
I’m just have this acromonyous joy from seeing these negro “leaders” getting their smug faces slumped in.
If nothing else comes from this race, these folks exposing themselves has been a good thing.
The problem with politics Yobachi at least the way I see it is, it is the party, not the people, who run everything, so it is to the party that these people feel loyalty to hence The Clinton’s, as they have been more entrenched in the party and the politics of D.D. for a long time.
No one knows which way is up as if things turn and the delegates actually have to vote the people the party itself loses some power and will have to reevaluate, things get shook up,the “normal” way of things in Washington change. This is scary for lifelong politicians and those who make their living in some way based on politics.
It’s scary to move in to a new house, go to a new school, and it is scary to try to figure out a new way of doing things, even if it is a better way.
Yes party politics is largely the underlining issue, but individuals are still responsible for their individual behavior.
It’s the fact that they play politics instead of being statesmen, which is why I problems with them. They’re political lackeys fronting as leaders.
This is the problem with these clowns and hence our nations fortunes being in their hands. These people are up their simply to amass political power and wealth unto themselves.
We need to expose them for what they are, get them out; and start putting people into office who actually care about the people, and hold them accountable if they go astray instead of supporting them forever just because they did something good once upon a time.
Until we do so, we’re just chasing our tale. That’s why in the piece about a Black presidency I make the point that if Barack gets into office he still has to contend with all the same politicians that have been there playing the same games.
I’m definitely for the abolishment of the party system as we know it to help this happen, and always promote that.
Plantation politics has been put on front street!
These plantation Negroes work for massa. They don’t work for the people. They rally our votes. Turn the votes over to massa. And then massa gives the Negroes some crumbs. But the people are left with false hope and unfulfilled promises.
It’s good these Negro “leaders” are being exposed for who and what they are.
They need to just support their districts
True dat Silk.E
rawdawgbuffalo, I believe the super delegates just need to be suspended in this race, and probably all together moving forward.
But anyway, if they over turn the will of the people the Democrats are going to pay. They will again snatch general election defeat from the jaws of victory.
The worst thing about this situation is the fact that there was no real thought put into the impact of their actions.
This could of been a real teaching and learning experience. We could have differences and still forward the respect for our story maker. Instead those who opted to be colored and cute with their black smashing remarks and negative responses failed to realize that there are multi~generations of black people who have seen them reveal how thoughtless they really are about the masses.
Plus that I suspect that they never believed that Obama would start a wild fire in this primary race. Now that it is obvious that he has~it has them scrambling to be in line with people who see it otherwise. Playing it safe was supposed to be their insurance for carrying on. Even though I am a movement reared woman/child~I firmly believe that they need to step the hell aside so the next generation of leaders can step up.
I also believe that there are those who are envious of what is happening. They have never had that level of appeal among the masses in America. Now that it is happening I suspect that they are really not too happy that it is not them.
Barack is a black man? Ah, get out of here.
What’s this crap about him not being black enough? Jesus H. Christ - what bunch of tripe. Some people really should be shot.
For once my comment won’t be a foot long - all you have to do is reread what cooper said as well as msladydeborah!
msladydeborah, I couldn’t agree more.
They really didn’t think Obama would rise so high, especially not with their top Negroe asses on the job to quell the black masses.
