My Most Recent Post On the Mychael Bell Plea deal can be seen by clicking here
Mychael Bell, the first of the Jena 6 defendants to be tried, is set to be freed on Monday after the 3rd District Court of Appeals threw out his second degree battery conviction due to its ruling that the charges should have been brought in juvenile court, not adult court.

This is not a dismissal “with prejudice” where he could then not be retried under “Double Jeopardy”. The District Attorney has the discretion to retry him in Juvenile court.
The spirit of those planning to rally, on what would have been Mychael Bell’s sentencing date, is that WE ARE STILL GOING. For one, as noted, Bell can still be retried; two, the charges on the other five victims have not been dropped; and three, these folks can’t be allowed to get away with this, and think they can try these shenanigans with no repercussions.
This CNN article tells about the charges being dropped.
I have obtained the contact info of the Jena 6 family members. I’m going to try to contact Mychael Bell’s father, Marcus Jones for a reaction. I’ll report back at this post if I speak to him.
Read here about the Virtual March for those of you who cannot go to take place in the actually Rally; to still be able to show support on the 20th.

I was on my way here to tell you about this, but you’re aware.
Great post.
I posted about this at UU and included a heads up about the Virtual March. I’m working on the release for that. I’m thinking the best day to commence this will be the same day of the proposed March coordinated by Color of Change, for those who can’t be there.
Here’s the link:

When I send out the news release I’ll let you and Francis know, in case you wish to comment, and also so you know which day it’s sent.
I’ll go back to UU and list the url to this post to the sidebar as well.

Alright, email me the particulars so I can start getting the word out too. I’m doing another Jena 6 post Sunday night, I can put that info at top of the post before I get into my specific report.; I’ll also added it to my jena 6 page and I’ll send the press release out to my media list.
The sooner we start notifying people, the more we’ll have participate.
The particulars are all pretty much in this post;

If you have a quote can you leave it in the comments or email me, and I’ll include it in the press release for Monday?
I’ll have to use pr.com, and create a special account for the Virtual March because I don’t have the log-in info from the press release you sent previously for the Day of blogging.
I’ll update the blog with a link to the press release also.
Folks can sign up at the blog posted today to show that their blogs will have a pic.
I’ll have my pic up shortly as soon as I can get it uploaded.
Much Love and thanks Yobachi

Peace Yobachi,
Pr.com is acting up today. I sent the release out at 3 am, and the press release was approved by the afternoon, but the link they gave me is having issues.
The same thing happened with a second press release I had to send today for another totally separate matter.
I’m including the link here because pr.com claims once a release is assigned to a link it will remain with that link. I’m assuming once they fix the glitch, the link will work.
Concerned Blogosphere Launches Grassroots Virtual March in Support of Jena 6
Nevermind.
The link above where the lettering is in bold type, will be working September 19 at 3 am. Apparently pr.com won’t be releasing it for two days.
That’s why it appears defunct right now.
I placed the link in the Virtual March post at UU and will make a note that it will be active 9/19.
Peace Yobachi.
I’ll send the press release out to media tonight via email.
