In fact, McCain’s tax policy is the same ol same. The exact same as George Bush’s; giving small tax cuts to average Americans to justify giving huge tax cuts to the super rich class; for which McCain has long belonged to.
The respected and independent Tax Policy Center in a new report lays it out in their abstract.
Abstract
Both John McCain and Barack Obama have proposed tax plans that would substantially increase the national debt over the next ten years, according to a newly updated analysis by the non-partisan Tax Policy Center. Compared to current law, TPC estimates the Obama plan would cut taxes by $2.9 trillion from 2009-2018. McCain would reduce taxes by nearly $4.2 trillion. Obama would give larger tax cuts to low- and moderate-income households and pay some of the cost by raising taxes on high-income taxpayers. In contrast, McCain would cut taxes across the board and give the biggest cuts to the highest-income households.
It’s unfortunate that both plans would raise the debt, nonetheless it’s clear who each candidate is working for. Obama want most people to get significant tax cuts, while McCain propose modest tax cuts for the majority and gives the hefty cuts to the super rich.
Furthermore, while most decent politicians are trying to look for ways to lower rising health care cost, McCain wants to tax the amount of the health care benefits your employer pays as personal income to individuals, something that does not happen right now. Also he proposes new billion dollar subsidies for Exxon on top of the billions in subsidies they already get from the American people as they make record multi-billion dollar profits.
Well, at least McCain has a plan to pay for for his subsidy (aka corporate welfare); apparently by taxing your health benefits.
Vanessa Byers authored a post yesterday with a video that details Obama’s economic plan.:
Barack Obama’s Blueprint for Change on the Economy
Here is a video highlighting presidential candidate Barack Obama’s plan for change on the American economy. Details of the plan are on his campaign website at www.barackobama.com/issues.
The economy has become even more important with the recent bailout provided to the banking and lending industry. So, why is it that I can’t just get a bailout on my personal debt? Anyhow, check out the video.
For folks who say that Obama hasn’t been specific, you can send them a link to the video or you can just keep it moving; those folks just don’t want to vote for Barack Obama.
