McCain Rally
Sixities Civil Rights leader, and current Georgia Congressmen John Lewis spoke on McCain’s hate mongering of the past week that he started to try and walk back at the end of the week, saying:
“What I am seeing reminds me too much of another destructive period in American history. Sen. McCain and Gov. Palin are sowing the seeds of hatred and division, and there is no need for this hostility in our political discourse. During another period, in the not too distant past, there was a governor of the state of Alabama named George Wallace who also became a presidential candidate. George Wallace never threw a bomb. He never fired a gun, but he created the climate and the conditions that encouraged vicious attacks against innocent Americans who were simply trying to exercise their constitutional rights. Because of this atmosphere of hate, four little girls were killed on Sunday morning when a church was bombed in Birmingham, Alabama.”
McCain Co. is trying to pretend that they weren’t intentionally trying to gin up hate by implying that Obama is a terrorist and some sort of mystery guy from the neather world. That’s funny when the following langauge is what we get from his supporters:
Minus the white sheets, I can’t tell the difference between this and a Klan rally.

I am just so exhausted by all this.
Fret not, there’s only 3 weeks left.
Well, of this campaign; the hate will endure in the hearts of men.
Mccain had better change his campaign rhetoric quickly. He’s opening up a racial pandoras box that he won’t be able to control.
Started to walk some of back Friday; then turned around and said he’s going to “whoop” Obama’s “you know what” in the debate. He also promised that one guy to bring up Rev. Wright, so we’ll see if he grows a pair and finally says some of this stuff to Obama’s face like a man. Or even a boy in 5th grade on the play ground.
My guess is he’s going to keep hidding behind Sarah Palin and Cindy McCain’s skirts to do the attacking.
John Lewis was dead on: By using racism, hatred, and division to win votes, McCain and Palin tacitly encourage bigotry and violence.
Yet, amazingly, McCain, instead of admitting that many of his supporters are clearly voicing dangerous thoughts and accusations, acted like a victim in the whole affair, even to the point of defending his supporters as “the most dedicated, patriotic men and women that are in this nation.”
Perhaps if the US invested in education rather than unnecessary warfare, we wouldn’t have ignorant masses of people threatening Obama’s life.
Thanks for posting these videos - I will definitely pass them on.
Senator McCain and the architects of this hate campaign are educated, so clearly even that won’t help those who just choose to perpetual evil and hate for either personal gain or to prop themselves up so that there can always be an other that is beneath them.
Good point. Though I feel that the Republican Party has become very skilled at manipulating ignorant voters.
That’s true as well Achai.
