Below is a press release I was emailed concerning a Genocide webcast that I plan to watch Thursday night.
It’s important for us to be informed and lift our voices on this issue, and Dr. Rice is great. I did this profile on her when she first got appointed to the United Nations.

Michael Abramowitz, Director of the Museum’s
Committee on Conscience, will interview Ambassador Rice, discussing her work at the United Nations and her experiences working on issues of genocide and mass atrocities and what can be done to prevent such crimes in the future.

U.S. Department of State
On December 8 last year the Genocide Prevention Task Force released its report,Preventing Genocide: A Blueprint for U.S. Policy Makers, explaining why genocide and mass atrocities threaten core American values and national interests and recommending how the U.S. government can work to prevent these crimes in the future. The Genocide Prevention Task Force was jointly convened in November 2007 by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, The American Academy of Diplomacy, and the United States Institute of Peace, and co-chaired by Madeleine Albright and William Cohen
