Discussing the Diaspora as seen through an internal Black lens

Just like in the Jena Six case, the excuse and explanation of what happen change as time goes by.
First the school system claimed there was a cake fight between students. Now the thug security guard is saying that Pleajhia Mervin threw cake at his feet - Likely story.
As how they claim that 6 guys at Jena High attacked Justin Barker for absolutely no reason, with absolutely no provocation; this story makes no sense. Who throws cake at somebody’s feet? This story by the guard now makes Pleajhia’s explanation of events more believe. She was bumped and her cake fell to the floor, probably near the guard’s feet; so he’s now casting that as her throwing it in order to cover his tracks.
Further, the simple fact that such a central detail could just now be coming to light to explain the events of that day, three weeks later, obliterates any credibility on the part of the school and the guard. Did he and the school forget how this incident started, and just now remembered? It’s not possible.
In an interview this week with a local ABC affiliate, school security guard Chris Niemeyer states that “Accusations that were made regarding myself are false. I felt I handled the situation professionally, and I don’t second-guess my action.”
And obviously Niemeyer is color blind as he spews the cliché and ridiculous rhetoric that he doesn’t “see color”.
The article states that “Niemeyer says he only used measured force after Mervin threw the cake at his feet and got in his face screaming obscenities.”
Sure, if he was measuring himself against another 250 pound man, as opposed to a 115 pound girl. And apparently Pleajhia went home and broke her own wrist as Niemeyer’s parents have claimed that there was no injury during the attack.
Surprisingly the L.A. Times today has a relatively comprehensive look at this story, and the tensions surrounding it.
Black parents continue to complain of a history excessive force and punishment by the school against Black children. What is described by these parents falls right in line with national trends of criminalizing Black children and getting them out of school whenever possible in order to decrease education and increase incarceration so that cells can be filled in order for private prisons to make their profit - In other words, the new slave trade.
We cannot wilt on this fight; it’s time to take a stand. This is systematic and widespread problem, and people must stand up against the abuse.
Also, still no word on why the student filming the incident was attacked, what he was expelled for, and why he was arrested.
The hoodlums who attacked the students all still roam free, with ring leader Niemeyer getting paid to sit home, scratch himself and catch up on his Jerry Springer viewing. Probably where he learned his knack for violent aggression, so in other words, he’s in training. The school calls it paid administrative leave.

Looks like it’s time to consider homeschooling when possible. Our babies are clearly under attack with a nod & wink from the very top.
Then they’ll have the cops beat them on the street for truancy during the day when you let them out the house for a breather from their studies.
Anyway, I say Afro-centered charted school – but most importantly each of us has to stand up and stop taking this shit!
Yobachi:
I couldn’t agree more. Afro-centered school is definitely an essential. Especially in the primary and elementary grade levels. But our resolution to end this behavior is the key.
If we sleep away while these heinous acts go on, we cannot engage the perpetrators of the injustice in any meaningful dialogue.
This is absolutely ridiculous! For some cake crumbs, this baby gets her wrist broken? And this guard gets to sit at home, paid, while this is being investigated? An absolute travesty! Even if the girl was rowdy, there is absolutely no excuse for this to have happened…unacceptable!
Her wrist wasn’t even broken. She’s a liar.
Bakare, every individual has to take it up themselves to organize locally in order to make that happen.
