The Real Amnesty: Democratic Leadership Negotiating Away Our Freedom

If you’re not familiar with the FISA/Protect America Act, and the current goings on with it in congress, you might want to check out the post and podcast about how Democrats are Selling Us Out On Civil Liberties Again

House leaders sought to extend the current act, that expires Saturday, for 21 more days while they figure out how much or how little they’re going to screw the people; but Bush said today he wouldn’t sign such an extension, hoping to force house democrats to follow the disastrous lead of the Senate and sign a similar corporate crime amnesty bill.

And why shouldn’t he pursue this strategy, as the lily-livered democrats have wilted every time in one of these situations concerning “national security” (more like national insecurity) issues: authorization of the Iraq war, every bill to refund the Iraq war, earlier spying on Americans bills, ect.

Well Today the House Leaders are negotiating with the Senate leaders who sold us out, on a final version of the bill

You need to call house leader today (202-225-312), to put some pressure on them to make sure nothing like the lawless senate bill makes it to the floor of the House.
