The White Media is Complicit In All of the Clinton Campaign Lies

March 17th, 2008

Francis Holland put up a post White-News Media Ignores All-White Obama States, Insisting that Skin Color is “Defining Feature” in Presidential Contest

This is my addendum

1. First, the lie that Obama is getting a pass and she’s getting it harder. Not hardly, the media basically takes all of it’s cues from Clinton. The media refuses to report disputes accurately and call out known falsehoods by the Clinton campaign; but instead tries to make it seem as if they are both equally skeevie and at fault.

2. the lie that Clinton has all this experience, especially in foreign policy. BULLSHIT. Name it. Where is it? She has minimal experience as far as think tank discussions in the white house, but she did no actual foreign policy work, and she even lies about helping negotiated treaties as first lady, while everyone else on those trips says not true. The media knows it’s not true and they let her completely off the hook for it.

Ivo Daalder, a former NSC official under President Clinton who was responsible for the Balkans, said that “there’s the inconvenient fact that the agreement to open the borders happened the day before she got there.”

“I have no doubt that the diplomats used the prospect of her visiting Macedonia to open the Macedonian borders. The question is, was she instrumental in negotiating the opening of the borders to all tens of thousands of refugees to pass? The answer is no…”

Sinbad Unloads on Hillary Clinton: About Hillary’s trip to Bosnia which Sinbad and Sheryl Crow took with her; Sinbad says “What kind of president would say, ‘Hey, man, I can’t go ’cause I might get shot so I’m going to send my wife…oh, and take a guitar player and a comedian with you.’

There are records, there are facts. The media covered this stuff at the time. All they have to do is review there own achieves to debunk some of this crap.

3. The Claim that Clinton in general is so much more experienced than Barack. Hosting tea parties and state dinners at the White House isn’t experience relevant to being the president. Again, she has some minimal experience think tank wise; but the one piece of legislation she was in charge of (health care) she failed at miserably. So that’s an experience of failure. Obama has been a legislature for 11 years. Clinton has been a legislature for 8. That’s 37.5% more elective experience for Obama. Further he has the mixture of both state and national experience. That combination is a great asset.

4. The race polarization thing. I was following the MSNBC numbers Tuesday night. They Claimed Barack only got 23 percent of the white vote and 92% of the Black. While Hillary Got 72% of the white vote. Now that just don’t add up. It doesn’t add up from different angles. 23 + 72 = 95. Who’d the other 5% of white folks vote for, Mike Gravel?

Black’s and whites in the Miss. Democratic electorate were both 49%. 49 * .92 (black vote) = 45. Then 49 * .23 (white vote) = 11.2. 45 + 11.2 = 56.2 but Obama got 61% of the overall vote. Even if he’d gotten 100% of the other two percent of the electorate (which he didn’t), that would still be only 58%. IT DON’T ADD UP.

The fact is he got 30 to 31 percent of the white vote. Yes, a minority, but significantly more than 23%; which makes the Race polarization argument less stringent.

And as Francis points out, he’s won almost every state that was overwhelmingly white. Almost every single state with a white population of 80% or higher, Obama won and most he won by large margins: Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Iowa, Utah, Vermont, Wyoming, ect.; and one the two he didn’t win, he tied for delegates; New Hampshire (94% white).

It took the Obama campaign prompting CNN just to cover the Clinton’s inexplicable secrecy just on their website.

The media really should stop it’s color arousal campaign to help Hillary Clinton. They do this, then they act surprised that Jeremiah Wright goes off as he does, as if he has no cause.

I think Bill Clinton is playing the media, using his relationships of over 30 years. The winds have shifted and if the media were once smitten with Obama they have gotten over it and the free pass now cost a high price.

I would like the media have her line item her 35 years of experience and what she accomplished.

JD, the media was just setting him up all along. They just wanted to creat him, sort of speak, to have the fun and salaciousness of destroying him.

The media really doesn’t so much have favorites and they’re not really liberal nor conservative; tehy’re corporate, and they do whatever gets ratings and best supports their corporate image.

Isn’t it odd that the white media is for Hillary while the white voters are for Barack? Who’s listening? Hillary has been and will always be a liar - it runs in the family - as Bill is just as much a bullshitter as she is. Lies, lies, lies. When will it stop.
I agree with JD in that ‘her 35 years of experience should be line itemed by the press’ - perhaps someone in the Obama camp will come up with that same thought.
Speaking of Reverend Wright - I’m not sure that all fall out of his actions won’t come back to haunt Obama, in that it’s pretty hard to swallow Obama was unaware of his rantings against the whites and the country. It’s a simple yes or no. Will the public believe him?
And what about the Michigan and Florida non-do-overs - the word on the street is that the DNC will award 50% to Hillary and 50% to Obama. WTF?
I read Zachary Roth’s piece in the CJR wherein the New York Times basically took a pass on castigating Hillary - they blew their chance to put things to right. What a couple of hacks.

I’ll say again Morgan that it’s not so much that the White media is so racist or anything; but that they’re lazy, they’re corporate, they have no integrity, and they’re capitulating.

They go with whatever makes a salacious narrative for them; so “experienced Hillary” against upstart “unexperienced Barack” gives them a storyline to push.

And just by Hillary being the entrenched corporate candidate, and having the long standing media relationships that she has makes many of them follow her cues. And just because many of them may be enthralled with Barack it doesn’t mean they want him to win, so they’re not going to point out her distortions if the Obama campaign is not going to point them out. That’s why I maintain that it’s his responsibility to do so; and telling the truth is not dirty campaigning, so it doesn’t require him to lose his integrity; it just requires him to get into the fight.
