Discussing the Diaspora as seen through an internal Black lens

Beyond the horrific-ness of this act in and of itself, and the obvious anti-government base of it; is the method of the act instructive as to an added component?

Let’s understand that anti-government sentiment is nothing new; and domestic violence/domestic terrorism against government targets is not new. We can recall the militia movement that grew up in the 80s and crescendo during the Clinton years, and the Bombing of the Oklahoma Federal Building in 1995 by Timothy McVeigh and his accomplices, that grew from that.
So we need not exaggerate or forget that rancor towards the government in general, and presidents in specific is quite routine.
Hence, is why I’ve stayed out of the “criticism of Obama is racism” debate. Ninty-five percent of the people who proffer the position do it so simplistically, without context and balance; that it’s just counterproductive to yell at every white person who’s anti-Obama that they’re merely racists; because the fact of the matter is that there was visceral hate towards Kennedy, Cater and Clinton from these same quarters. Yes, there maybe a level of racism involved that we can see in their refusal to recognize Obamas legitimacy to even hold the office (the birthers), and which may add to some of the disdain of many of these folks; but it’s not the basis, nor the only or primary reason for it.
Yet, when even white people start getting hanged for their association to government, one must wonder if that particular method of killing the government worker wasn’t meant to be a signal of both government and racial disdain. It’s something to monitor.

MANCHESTER, Ky. – When Bill Sparkman told retired trooper Gilbert Acciardo that he was going door-to-door collecting census data in rural Kentucky, the former cop drew on years of experience for a warning: “Be careful.”
The 51-year-old Sparkman was found this month hanged from a tree near a Kentucky cemetery with the word “fed” scrawled on his chest, a law enforcement official said Wednesday, and the FBI is investigating whether he was a victim of anti-government sentiment.

Thanks for sharing your insightful and thought provoking comments regarding the current political and social atmosphere in America today. I also feel that those who hold both anti-govement and anti-race views are prone to be even more violent in their actions and attitudes. Kudos and keep up the good work!

Thanks for checking it out. Glad you enjoyed my perspective.
I agree that having the combination of antagonistic views makes one even more likely to be violent.
