I did not want this Veterans Day to pass without acknowledging the men and women who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States of America. They have made a tremendous sacrifice to do battle on behalf of this nation.

I also have family members who have served in the military since World War I - to the current war in Iraq/Afghanstan.[This goes for me as well]

On my other blog:The Reniassance Gallery there are some historical videos that feature African Americans in the military.

The Negro Solider-This film is the propaganda tool used to recruit Negro civilians into military service by the Department of War.

United States Colored Troops This is rare footage that features ‘colored’ troops of the United States Army.
