OCALA, Fla. - Action star Wesley Snipes was found not guilty of federal tax-fraud and conspiracy charges Friday, but was convicted on three misdemeanour counts of failing to file a tax return.

Snipes and two co-defendants, a delicensed accountant and a tax protest leader, were indicted in 2006.

Snipes faced six additional counts of wilful failure to file a tax return from 1999-2004, a period in which he signed two contracts for more than $10 million on sequels in the “Blade” trilogy.

He was acquitted on three of those and convicted on the others. He could be sentenced to three years in prison after originally facing a possible 16 years.

Co-defendants Eddie Ray Kahn, the founder of a tax protest group, and Douglas P. Rosile, a delicensed accountant, were convicted by the same jury of tax fraud and conspiracy.

I don’t know how he beat those charges. How do you in good faith not only pay no taxes on millions of dollars for 7 years; but then file for refunds on taxes you didn’t pay, and be considered to have acted in good faith.

An the rich never pay taxes.

I like snipes, he’s been in a lot of good movies I like; but I hope he goes to jail on those misdemeanor charges. There’s no way he did nothing wrong. Rich people shouldn’t just get a way with this shit. The rest of us don’t.

It’s amazing how the rich are treated different from the rest of us. NO, it’s criminal how the rich are…
I wonder what level of outrage would envelop this country if everyone knew just how rotten and unfair the little guy is treated. Caste system. Why of course. How else can the government keep us in check.
